I hate bad Google reviews because I often feel as if they come from someone who has an axe to grind, but I feel compelled to write this one so I can protect others from going through what my 13 year old son has unfortunately experienced. I sent my son into what turned out to be his final lesson, to a teacher who berated him, and threw him out, sobbing, and then completely refused to engage with me, his parent. Had I known what was going on in that house while I sat outside in the car, I would never have sent him in. I would strongly advise anyone who is considering sending their children for lessons with Philip not to. His behaviour towards my son could only be described as cruel. No child (or person for that matter!) should flee a lesson with a professional having been told If youd rather do things like ride your bike, it would be best if you sold your drum set. I have learnt a horrible safeguarding lesson here. Private music teachers dont have to be regulated, so please do your homework. Ask to see DBS certificates (although these only cover police convictions and not questionable behaviour.) or ensure you sit in on lessons.

Ive been having guitar lessons with Phil for over 10 years now, fantastic teacher with a great personality and is fantastic at accommodating to what you want to get out of your music. Phil has given me opportunities to play at brilliant live event that he puts on. Im a grade 6 guitar player now and have loved the journey Ive been on with my playing. Highly recommend.

Been with Phil for a few years now learning to play guitar, classical, flamenco, electric & bass. Great guy, very talented and patient, needed to be with me but have learnt a lot in the time. Would not hesitate in recommending him, we have a great time during the lesson.
