Looking for an older golden retriever companion to share my life. Looked on this website, but unfortunately, there was not much to see. Some of the reviews were quite mixed regarding the experiences they had had when enquiring about a dog. I have wanted a golden retriever most of my life, after having my gorgeous golden labrador boy, but because I then started to work full time, it would not have been fair to have a dog. Now I am retired I would love a golden retriever, but feel I am too old to get a puppy. I will keep looking. As they say 'what is meant for you, won't pass you by'.

It doesn't actually tell you if they have retrievers for adoption. Couldn't be bothered to go to the trouble of contacting them if they can't mention this small detail.

Sadly we had a very odd phone call with Jan in which she came across as dismissive and off-putting. She sounded as though she would rather not be having the phone call at all, and I made an excuse to hang up as it was clear she didnt wish to be speaking with us. Im not sure what put her off us as we didnt have the chance to share much about us, but she had an unpleasant manner from the minute she picked the phone up. Im quite sure Jan does a huge amount of fantastic work, judging by the good reviews of the rescue on here, but it seems we will not be able to support by homing a dog.
