After 2 years of back and forth between the DGCOS, their member company and the Ombudsman I've been left with an unfinished extension which according to the independent inspection carried out by the DGCOS has poor workmanship and requires remedial works to put right, no financial or insurance back guarantee and no other avenue except through the courts as the member company has already breached the Ombudsman ruling by not carrying out agreed works. All I have had is an apology for the way my case has been handled and that they will learn from this and no other customer will have my experience in the future. which is great for future consumers but does nothing to help me..

Having reached a point of impasse in endeavouring to resolve issues of poor workmanship and a leaking roof, we decided to utilise the services of DGCOS as a last resort before legal action. Fortunately, this decision proved to be the right one and we would like to thank Tracy for her intervention and resolving what could have been a long and expensive drawn out process. The matter was subsequently concluded to the satisfaction of all concerned and I would not hesitate in recommending this organisation.

I have been communicating with DGCOS on behalf of my elderly aunt who had paid a 2,000 deposit for the installation of a new conservatory roof. Unfortunaetly the DGCOS registered company that was to do the work went bust before job commenced and the company that took over their outstanding contracts would not carry out the work. DGCOS have been very helpful and supportive, providing information and contacting the company that inherited the contract to try and resolve the issue. The new company are still refusing to carry out the work, my aunt and myself are extremely grateful because DGCOS have confirmed that they are refunding the 2,000 deposit that was paid.

This organisation pretends to give protection to the consumer but the reality is they represent the industry first and foremost. When I had a problem with one of their 'members' I followed their guidance and protocols to the letter, using keywords from their website, but within a short while of lodging a complaint against the firm in question they had passed judgement in favour of them. It would appear that whilst I was following the proper procedures the firm in question did not and already had them pass judgement before I made contact with the DGCOS. It took a legal representative (with evidence I presented to the DGCOS) less than a day to get the firm in question to admit liability, which is what I was led to believe the DGCOS would do. Don't waste your time employing firms that use the DGCOS as a selling point, for us they appeared as dishonest and corrupt as the firm's they represent.

This Ombudsman Service is quite honestly a life saver!! An 100% amazing and free (yes free!! ) mediation service which is most definitely an essential requirement for everyday consumers, when thinking of purchasing Double Glazing/Conservatories. Please make sure your supplier is a member with the DGCOS, please!! When many others let us down, this Service did not. They are to the point, factual and steadfast where fair, unbiased consumer advice is required and this mediation resolution service is executed in a controlled, concise, efficient and highly effective manner, outstanding is an understatement! That being said, both my husband and I would like to take the time to pass on our immense gratitude and a huge personal thank you to Tracy Dilworth. An amazing person who provided us with the professional support and reassurance we needed, when we needed it at desperate times and for that alone, we could never thank Tracy enough. Huge thanks again, totally incredible in everway
