This system of phoning for hours and then losing out to people who are queueing at the door, often when I'll, has got to stop.

I waited patiently for more than 1 week after booking an appointment to see a GP only to be directed to see a nurse for new patient review. My worst hospital experience so far.

This practice is playing with people's life. Money making place, lack of empathy, no communication skills and no medical support. As a medical staff myself who I offer my best self everyday for my patients, this practice is a disgrace. Unbelievable how they can mess NHS by sending everyone to A&E because they don't bother to do a referral or to SEE and EXAMINE the pt. Unbelievable how incompetence became this solid in NHS and more important for poor people. Only today I tried 15 times to get a space in the queue and this after I called 3 minutes before 1pm and I've been told they cannot booked me before 1pm .

Ingol Health Centre is the hub for the local community services and North Preston Medical Practice. I won't go into details about the GP practice as that is a whole other review, I'll just concentrate on the centre. The centre has ground floor access throughout with double door access if required. It has a good sized seating area, it's shared with the GP practice but generally the clinics seating is closest to the reception. There is a toilet just passed the GP reception area (2nd reception towards the rear) on the right. I haven't used it so can't comment on what it's like. The first reception is the community desk where you can book in or request information based around the services they cover. The desk isn't always open, I think it's only open on clinic days, if you do have an appointment don't do what I did and just sit waiting patiently to be seen, some clinics require you to sign in, confusing as some don't! The blood clinics have recently gone back to the ticket system, the ticket machine is to the left just passed the reception window. It gets ridiculously busy since it's the only local service for many and I've heard that waiting times are currently exceeding the clinic times and people are being turned away. Get to the clinic early and grab a ticket, it seems many people are going in when the centre doors open and are waiting in the reception long before the phlebotomists have arrived! The only other service I have accessed is the local physiotherapy. The rooms are to provide assessments which can be booked via your GP. There are lots more services that use the centre, like I said it's more of a hub providing rooms for each provision. The parking is shared with the GP surgery and pharmacy. It can get very busy, even the blue badge bays are often full. There is parking available on Village Green Rd just before the surgery that is used by the Tanterton community hall and the Nisa, it's on the right just after the houses.

I used to hate calling up for an appointment and wait for so long in the queue, but knew all gp practices were struggling. The surgery is improving massively, with a better quality of care, better communication and shorter wait times. 5 stars for Janice (and I cant remember the other receptionists name!) - receptionists are now a lot more caring (they were probably just stressed and really busy before). I called and visited the practice last Wednesday and there was excellent communication and a lovely friendly face, who reassured me and calmed my anxiety. Ive called the surgery today after receiving a text message, and not had to wait long at all in the queue, and again had a lovely receptionist who booked my appointment. Only frustrating thing now is the really long initial voice message (but again its probably needed). Lovely to see all feedback is being taken on board and I now want to stay at the surgery, and feel well taken care of.
