PGHS has a brilliant vibe and looking back, I feel privileged to have spent 5 years studying there. The support of teachers has been invaluable and I certainly wouldn't be studying at Durham University without the confidence they inspired in me. Overall a great place to be!! :-)

I don't even know where to start in expressing my gratitude towards the school. I didn't go to PGHS as an A* student, but I left as one, because every single teacher helped me exceed both my target grades and my own expectations at GCSE. I'm a more confident and self-assured person because of my time at PGHS.

PGHS' mission statement is to "prepare articulate, questioning, tolerant, independent women for the future". Suffice to say, I developed all of these qualities during my time there. Confidence is something I have always struggled with, yet all teachers constantly reassured me and encouraged me to work to the best of my ability. PGHS has not merely helped me learn academically but has helped me learn things about myself and I will forever be grateful for my experiences there. There is always opportunities arising at PGHS; I recently did work experience there.

I cannot express enough how much Penwortham Girls' High impressed me each and every day with their outstanding treatment of me as a pupil and an individual. I started the school in year seven(2011) as a timid and academically shy student I left with skills enabling me to shine and excel at college not only academically by socially. The schools teaching staff are beyond committed and set a level of discipline that facilitates a high level of success in everything the school does. The pastoral support I received at PGHS was also outstanding; the well-being/ALS staff being attentive and specifically informed to the needs of each pupil. The transition from Primary to High school was one I was especially impressed with as I smoothly was able to do things more independently without feeling I was thrown in at the deep end. Although I left year 11 with 10 GCSE'S A*-B I received so much more than a good academic profile, the skills transferred and the social skills I gained were what I valued the most. With it being an all girls school, the specific emphasis on a whole body/ community gives the school a friendly yet equal opportunity feel; allowing pupils of all abilities to be pushed to their full potential. I cannot recommend this outstanding school enough!
