I had been advised by a builder friend that an existing extension may need an RSJ. I enquired online re survey to a few different companies. Most came back with a quote. However, I received a call from a gentleman from this company who took the time to talk through my concerns, gave me advice about my extension and building regulations. I am very grateful and would recommend this company to all as it is refreshing to deal with a company that do not want to carry out unnecessary work that would have cost me approximately 500. This firm surveyed our house, and spotted a serious issue with it that a previous surveyor hadn't. We and the purchaser negotiated a [fair] reduced price of our house [in part] as a result. Notice to all home owners - walk around your house every now and then and really look at it - because we had never noticed that the timber support above our bay window was rotting, and neither did a previous surveyor for a prospective buyer who, regardless of this issue he never knew anything about, had never owned an older house and decided that he wanted to buy 'new build']. This firm also surveyed a house we were fully intent on buying, and identified some very serious issues which never would have occurred to us [it was a 'modern' property]. I will definitely be calling on them again for the inevitable next survey
