It is worse than asking a question at a Labour run Town hall. A star by necessity...

Had arranged an appointment for Sunday 2nd January 2022 at 11, a person rang at 9:55 saying he is going to be late and will be coming around 1:30pm. The person did not turn up and the coward did not even have the decency to say he won't be able to make it. I have more information if the management want to contact me.

We had a chap to design/quote us on full bedroom furniture, BUT, at the end of the design we had a quote of over 6000 and was told that is half price with a discount WOW, and we never picked the most expensive furniture either. The one thing we never asked for was the rep drawing on our walls, around the top of the bed on the walls was a big long line drawn in pencil on the actual wallpaper, NOT IMPRESSED. I would say if you have an appointment with Sharpes watch the rep like a hawk with a pencil in his hand. We have had to repaper the wall as its rented property we are in. OMG he should be made to pay for that....

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY After recently having some Sharps furniture fitted I wanted to share the following: Dont fall for the sales pitch the sales person was nice enough but the try to close the sale by saying commit today and pay a deposit so you can get X amount of discount. I went to Sharps for the name and supposed quality of the product. In reality the quality is ok but not amazing (another local company could easily provide the same (if not better) for much cheaper. Scrutinise the drawings. Again the sales pitch went well however, when the fitter arrived he noticed certain elements were missing (I.E. small dividing strips of wood between drawers and the rest of the framework. They are important as without them your drawers could scrape against the rest of the frame or not open at all - luckily ours are ok but literally by a millimetre still if you are paying for quality you should get it). The sales rep advises you to decorate before the instillation date as and damage is minimal. This depends on what your perception of minimal is like me, you may need to completely redecorate the whole room again. Expect dust more than you would initially think. The dust spread across my landing, stairs and hallway was excessive. I came to learn that not all fitters have dust extraction equipment (ours had one tool with a bag with holes on it which was about as much use as a chocolate fire guard). You have to ask for this specifically from Sharps (and they only really offer it if you say you have a medical reason - I.E. bad asthma). I would also recommend you inspect the fitters working area BEFORE they start working as you have you have to ask for dust sheets. All fitters are contractors and are prepared to down tools and leave if you in whatever condition they like. This was made clear to us on the first day by the fitter. The sales rep may tell you that your bed is ok to stay in the room as long as they feel their is sufficient space for the fitter. The fitter may feel differently and this may cause some friction when the fitter shows up as it did do in my case. The fitter/Sharps do not take away any waste. They do put it neatly but the onus is on the customer to dispose of it all. If you encounter any issues and you speak to the contact centre they will be nice and may promise a call back but in my experience you need to chase them. When you call them make sure they ask you for your details I had a conversation whereby I was told the sales rep had told me one thing and it was noted on the system. I asked how they could possibly know that when they hadnt taken any of my personal details. This got a laugh from the lady on the other end of the phone but nothing in the way of an apology. All of the furniture is chip board and most of the edges appear a little sharp and unfinished. If you are not happy with the fitter you could be waiting several weeks/months for someone else. All that being said, the actual end product is ok, very sturdy and will last a lifetime (even if its largely made of chip board). Im not sure it is worthy of the thousands of s Ive paid (well over 6k for one wardrobe and some office cupboards) and it is definitely worth checking other local companies. Our fitter also kept himself to himself, checked with us on certain aspects of the build, worked several long days to get it completed and was overall a nice bloke.
