Dawn's Tea Rooms & Bakery

Came upon this little caf bakery while on a visit to Knott End. It's located opposite the library, close to the village square. Very clean, light and homely inside, with some interesting old photos of local scenes on the walls. A few tables outside. There's a clean toilet at the back of the caf. The lady who served me was very pleasant and welcoming. Most of the people who came into the caf appeared to be regulars, and this made for a casual friendly atmosphere. They do sandwiches, toasties, soup and light meals. As well as hot and cold beverages, there's a small bar offering alcoholic drinks. Opted for the tuna melt toastie with salad, very tasty and the salad was crisp and fresh. Chips were extra, and they were lovely! Homemade, thick cut and very hot. Nice hot pot of tea, with a china teacup. There were some delicious looking cakes and pastries on display, could not resist trying a chocolate covered pastry and I can thoroughly recommend! It was filled not only with cream but also berries and lots of custard, and the chocolate was really thick. The whole meal was very good value for money. Would definitely come back here if I'm in Knott End again.
