Parklands Care Home - Minster Care Group

An excellent caring community. My 92 year old mum is a resident at Parklands and has received the benefit of the consistently professional levels of care and warmth provided. Her health, wellbeing and happiness have benefitted from the excellent facilities and caring relationships. My wife, and other family members visit her at least 4 times a week and have witnessed the excellent provision offered by all at Parklands. Before choosing Parklands my wife and I consulted local health professionals, read CQC reports taking note of their ratings and visited all the care homes that were recommended. Parklands caring atmosphere; high quality of relationships between staff and residents; the excellent programme of activities and the quality of accommodation and food all made Parklands stand above the other good care provision in Poynton.

Avoid. I witnessed the manager bullying staff in front of residents (shouting across the lounge area for everyone to hear). Also, I feel she has used covid to keep relatives out, as she doesn't want them seeing how the place is run. I also witnessed a carer being exceptionally rought with the resident who was clearly upset by being manhandled in such a way. No empathy, just told to be quiet.

I wish someone would answer the phone. 12 times I've called to date, yet the phone has only ever been answered once.

My mother spent 6 wonderful years at Parklands. It was really like home from home. The staff were brilliant and her every need was catered for. Sadly she passed away in the summer but even then the staff were so good to our family. I would recommend Parklands to any one.
