James is friendly, helpful and a skilful master restorer. He undertook a wonderful restoration on our battered antique chairs and skillfully refurbished them to their original elegance and at a reasonable pre-agreed price. No hesitation in recommending him.

I had a very large oak dining table that needed to be made smaller, and a coffee table in need of restoration as it was old and battered. On close examination in his workshop, it turned out the original options I'd envisaged weren't possible. James came up with a practical solution for both projects without incurring significant additional cost. The dining table top was replaced with a new, smaller one in solid ash with gorgeous grain, fitted to the old pedestals. The coffee table was stripped and lacquer painted to match other items in the room, which will bring it a new lease of life. James has been very helpful and communicative throughout and always a pleasure to deal with.
