My mum was resident here for nearly four years but has recently passed away. We could not have wished for a better place to care for mum in her declining years. All the care from the managers- Veronica, Courtney, Mayet, Julie, through all the staff was wonderful. Residents are treated with dignity and respect and the staff create a lovely atmosphere which make it a pleasure to visit. The staff coped brilliantly through the pandemic in difficult circumstances. Thank you Greenhill for making mums last years comfortable.

You are always apprehensive when placing someone into care, but from the first time I drove my dad through the gate in July 2021 until his passing in May 2022, I have never looked back. The manageress and all the staff I have met there have been exceptional. They are always courteous, caring, professional and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. It is a clean, secure, caring environment set within lovely gardens. During the pandemic, with the extra stress of restricted visits and PPE, the home was managed impeccably. I cannot praise Greenhill enough; their level of care for my dad has been outstanding. The care, friendliness, facilities, and service I have experienced during my dads stay has been faultless. At no time have I had cause for complaint, and it has left me in no doubt I made the right choice. I would have no hesitation in recommending Greenhill to anyone. On behalf of all my family, I would like to thank everyone at Greenhill for making my dads latter months in life so comfortable.

Poor customer service. Veronica raised her voice at myself through a phone call on behalf of a family member. Disgusting customer service.

It has taken me some time to bring myself to write this review as I want to make very clear just how distressed we are by the care (or lack thereof) from this home and their desire to take absolutely no responsibility for their appalling actions. Another reviewer below has made clear what the response was from the manager when she spoke up about issues that concerned her. I can categorically state that we were also screamed at numerous times when trying to speak to the manager about our concerns about my mother's care and even just about misplaced laundry. The manager would also build a wall of staff in her office and at meetings to intimidate us. Mum was resident for almost 4 years and we were told lies continuously by the manager. When mum moved in she was pre-diabetic (caused by a previous care home feeding her cheap stodge daily). The manager of Greenhill care home assured us that mum would be on a diabetic meal plan. However, we continuously saw mum being fed cakes, biscuits, sweets, sugar and so on. The manager kept assuring us that mum was on a diabetic meal plan every time I tried to discuss the situation. In the meantime, the local GP surgery they use (The Elms) were supposed to be monitoring mum's blood sugar levels. They did it once. Not knowing that mum's levels weren't being monitored, I was under the impression that all was well. Fast forward a couple of years to mum getting continuous UTIs (one not treated for 2-3 weeks which permanently caused cognitive decline), mum losing significant amounts of weight, mum being dangerously dehydrated - so much so that she was passing out regularly and even being taken by paramedics to A&E (which was terrifying) - all very common signs of diabetes but not noticed by the manager (who herself is diabetic), who instead put mum's symptoms down to 'long Covid' and denied that there were any issues such as dehydration. Having confirmed that mum was fully diabetic, I again requested mum stop being given cheap refined carbs continuously but the home refused. Perhaps one of the reasons that the parent company regularly posts profits of 14m per year? Instead, mum was put on medication against mine and mum's will, rather than control her condition (and reverse it) through diet. At this point I discovered that there is NO diabetic meal plan. I could no longer deal with the manager (as explained above) and instead contacted the head office, who were as bad, if not worse in their responses to us. When the manager found out I had spoken up she gave mum a notice of eviction - all for the sake of feeding mum a diabetic safe diet. Since mum left, she is no longer diabetic and has normal blood sugar levels (tested throughout the day for an 8 week period by a diabetic doctor) and eats normal food, just no cheap stodgy carb fillers like cake, cereal, sandwiches and biscuits. There were other trust issues over care that became apparent over time, so all I can suggest is that any prospecive residents take no notice of the surroundings (pleasant as they are) and assume that everything you are being told by the management team is a lie and then you will at least be in a better position to judge whether you want to leave your frail, vulnerable and elderly loved one in the hands of these people. I really wish I never had. I will always have to live with the guilt that I believed these people who caused so much harm.
