This is a real little gem in the West Country. Stunning location in a secluded valley with great facilities. The owner Andrew, was incredibly pleasant and welcoming as well as being a real dab-hand at cyder making. You have to try his cyder whilst you're here - it's to die for and 5 litres was in my boot going home. The camp site itself was really well looked after and you can tell it's run with love. The pitches were large and a number of them were private separated by hedges. Ever been in a campsite where the owner is tight with hot-water? Not this one - it had an abundance of hot water and great showers which are situated in a spotless toilet block. There's also a lake with 2 rowing boats to use whilst you're there. It's great for families as well as couples like myself and my wife and it's perfect for peace and quiet. You get birdsong by day and complete silence by night. Life doesn't get much better than sitting in Batcombe Vale in the evening, the campfire roaring, a glass of Andrew's cyder in your hand, looking at a starry sky. Can't wait to go back!

Old favourite camp site, beautiful location, very peaceful. Unfortunately the price for camping is now too high for us so will probably not visit again. 15 a night for electric hook up, is crazy. Reply to batcombe comments The charge for our 2 nights was 74, this is the highest per night cost we have had in this trip. My wife paid as I was not at the site when you visited to take payment. We had not booked prior to arrival, which is why you can't find our booking. Do you charge more for arrivals without booking ? After your site we visited lydford campsite on the edge of Dartmoor, the charge for 2 nights there was 54
