I'm a regular repeat prescription service user and today was not the finest hour on the front desk. There was no queue so I waited only a couple of mins to be served by a passive aggressive assistant who persisted in telling me I was wrong about my waiting prescription - ranging from it had already been collected, perhaps the surgery had printed it, perhaps I hadn't submitted it. When asked if she had checked correctly it transpires that she could find my order. None of the above applied because the initial check had not sought enough information (address) to precisely confirm who I was rather than who she thought I might be. The whole conversation was unnecessarily loud. The apology I might have anticipated for her error was not made. 21st century service this was not. Time for some remedial training I feel. The fact of less local competition should not mean lower standards - the online options look increasingly attractive against this sort of experience. Come on West Hill - you've been far better than this
