Derwent Water Marina

Hired a sup for the day. Good quality boards, plus wetsuit and buoyancy aid hire was included in the price. Other reviews have mentioned the staff at the marina but I must just give a special shout out to Andy - so knowledgeable and helpful. I definitely hope to come back at some point in the future.

Visited whilst on holiday locally. Great friendly service from booking through to the tuition we had. We booked a paddleboarding lesson and then hire for afterwards for me and my 2 teenagers. The weather conditions changed after our lesson and we ended up needing to be recovered as the wind was too difficult for my youngest to paddle against, but the team were very helpful getting us back to the marina. Cam was an excellent tutor giving us all the basics we needed to get us going and making the lesson fun too. We'll hopefully be back to give it another go on a less windy day! The on site shop is very well stocked for all the water based activities on offer but other than a family changing shower room and toilets, there isn't anything else. Looks like they have rental apartments too. There's a great cafe just 5 mins down the road for a warm up coffee / hot choc and food (The Chalet Tearooms). The views on the lake are of course amazing so worth a visit and a try out of the many water activities on offer. Would definitely recommend.
