To all future customers of cars of christchurch, please read the below before purchasing. I would like to highlight that I am very happy with my new car that I purcahsed from them, it was a little pricey, however service provided from David, initially, was very good. The issue started with the part exchange. I part exchanged my old car with them, I did not get much for it but paid for the extended insurance that I purchased at the same time as getting the car. When I went to purchase the car I forgot to put the paperwork in the glove compartment but drove and posted them to David the next day who then confirmed he had recieved all the service history and V5 in the letter box. Roll on 6 months later and I recieve a court summons telling me that I needed to attend a court hearing due to driving without insurance for my OLD CAR! I was in complete shock, wanting to sort this I contacted DVLA, the courts and declared not guilty on the plea, initially. I contact David at Cars of Christchurch, he informed me to send the court summons over and initially almost made out I had not done a part exchange with him, then infromed me they would investigate. I had to send a quite a few texts and emails to follow up, bear in mind I have a very busy job myself. Their findings of their investigation came via test message saying: Hi Georgina, No problem I can confirm we are in receipt of your message. I believe you have handled everything correctly in this matter and apologise that you have had to deal with this issue. Many thanks David. ?!?!? Okay so I asked if he had the V5 or slip, the answer was no. I have since chased via email and text with nothing since. I have been advised by DVLA and Citizen advice that I should have taken the slip out prior to handing the documents over and should not have posted them. They have advised based on the evidence that I have a case and are advising next steps legally. David has been put as a witness for the transaction for the court hearing which I am awating a date. I am mortified that this has happened and the stress it has caused me, I cannot exaplin in words. I will keep this post updated with the final stages as it is important for future customers to know that good customer services is not just on the sale, but how important the aftersales care from the company. I will be posting this on further sites to warn people to make sure that if you do purchase here, make sure you check all paperwork. I also have since found out that the extended warranty I took out does not exist with the provider. So even more stress ahead. Be warned!!

I've read all the posts and I can feel the pain of all the one star reviews, I too brought a car with this place and in the time I've had the car I have spent 1000s on it fixing problems that should not of been there in the first place. Now the dealer may reply with this is a fake post but I can assure you its not, now I can't say don't use these people because I may of just been unlucky with the car, but all I can say is be careful with any car you buy, that's the joys of buying a second hand. But I can also say I do think it's the responsibility of the dealer to make sure it's road worthy with issues sorted before resale. My car now is nearly paid off and I will be glad of it too and when it's time to get a new car I will not be using this company, Yes they are friendly and helpful etc, but there're also a sales person and that is their job to get the sale and that's the bottom line of it.
