Bourne View Holiday Cottage

Was recently lucky enough to spend a weekend in Porlock, staying at Boatmans Cottage. The cottage is a delightful, secluded retreat - yet easily accessible and within walking distance of village amenities, the beach and numerous walking routes. Its obvious that much thought and attention to detail has gone into making the cottage a comfortable & cozy home away from home. Quality furniture is enhanced with an abundance of rugs, throws, cushions & candles - all adding to the homely feel. Decor has a nod to the coastal location without being cliched. Comfortable beds & crisp white linen provided some great sleep, aided by the absolute quiet which the location affords - the fact that the cottage can only be reached on foot makes a surprisingly pleasant change. Little touches like the local interest information folder, a supply of logs & the generous welcome basket - indicative of the warm welcome at Boatmans Cottage - were greatly appreciated. Will definitely return.

Just had a weekend away at the Boatmans Cottage in Porlock . What a gorgeous cottage in an idyllic setting with plenty to see and do. The owners attention detail was impressive - from the easy to light fire , the the Nespresso coffee pods and the sumptuous duvets and cotton bed linen A cozy, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated hidden gem ! I would highly recommend this property.

What a wonderful cottage, so peaceful yet central to Porlock with brilliant information from the host. Boatmans Cottage is beautifully decorated throughout and we were very impressed with the high standard of cleanliness. We stayed here for a couple of nights with wind and rain driving us indoors to the cosy sitting room and log burning fire. A perfect place to get away.

What a magical place! The cottage is gorgeous; beautifully decorated, comfortable and homely. The beds are very comfortable which is essential in my opinion, and yet rarely found! We had everything we needed for a weekend in a lovely hideaway. The village has good pubs and restaurants and incredible views across the sea. Its a great place if you love walking too. Perfect.
