Myrtle Cottage is the perfect place to stay in Porlock (or for miles around too come to that!). A beautiful thatched cottage in the heart of the village it offers all you want and more. Tyrone and Neil gave us a very warm welcome. Perfect hosts for whom NOTHING is too much trouble. The breakfasts are amazing! Tyrone and Neil have created a cosy and welcoming area in the breakfast room where you can sit and read, whilst enjoying a piece of local cake. This is a thoughtful and welcome touch, so much nicer than having to sit up in your room when you get in. The rooms however, are lovely. Very clean and comfortable; with a well supplied tea tray and local fudge. There is a boot room where you can leave or dry wet, muddy clothes; useful for dog owners and walkers. Tyrone and Neil are not just dog friendly, they are dog welcoming. A little treat was left in the room for our dog. So nice that they are included. Although when we stayed Tyrone and Neil had only just taken over, and so were getting used to the running of Myrtle Cottage everything was faultless. However, listening to their plans for the future, I thinks it is set to get even better!! We can't wait to go back next year - yes, we booked for next year before we left! - and see the changes. If you are looking for a place to stay in Porlock, then you would do well to look no further than Myrtle Cottage!
