I've used RDL Electronics for repairing all my HiFi separates. They were able to repair my 15 year old Yamaha CD player to an as new condition. Although they ask for 30 up front to assess what will be required and checks to ensure that replacement parts are available, this is deducted from the final repair bill. Great service.

My original 1* rating was given as a result of a misunderstanding between RDL and myself. I now understand that RDL went to some length to try to resolve the problem with the CD players, and as a result I amend my rating to 4*. Sorry for any confusion.

This review is for a 60-year-old record player only and has been edited to better reflect our experience after my wife received a very unpleasant phone call from RDL regarding my original review. Took a vintage record player here for service and repair. Eight weeks later after chasing we finally got the unit back. RDL had been waiting for a part from China to repair a mechanical fault on the record deck that had been picked up in the service. The deck is now repaired and works well so we are satisfied with that. However, the player is 60 years old and RDL did not change any of the valves or capacitors which usually needs doing in a unit this old. Given that we had paid for a service and the sound output was not great I would have expected these issues to be corrected. We did ask if RDL would look into the sound issues and they balanced the tone arm for us. I have since taken the unit for a second opinion elsewhere and had confirmed that all components are original, 60 years old. There were some loose retaining clips rattling around in there which is hazardous!!! Some of the valves needed replacing as do a couple of capacitors. This is expected in a vintage player of this age. Satisfied with the repair on the deck but Its a shame that we paid for a service and that R.D.L did not spot any of the electrical issues effecting sound quality.
