I am still in disbelief over the professionalism and empathy that weve experienced over the three days we have been in hospital having our baby!

My daughter attended the unit on Sunday and Tuesday this week with a bleed and I cannot praise the staff enough they were wonderful. This is my daughter's first baby and in what was a very frightening situation you helped and gave her the best care. Thank you so much you were wonderful

Had my twins here December 2022. I got transferred here from Portsmouth (my local hospital) as Portsmouth had no space at the NICU. From the moment I arrived through those doors I was treated with dignity and respect. Always kept in the loop on everything that was going on and always went above and beyond to help me. The midwives and doctors are absolutely amazing here and Im glad I had my twins here. I got the birth I hoped and planned on and they were very supportive of my birth plan. Once I had my twins I got moved to transitional care ward where all the midwives and HCSWs were brilliant. They even offered to do your babies night feeds and nothing was ever too much to ask for. My twins did spend a little time in the NICU and Id like to say a massive thank you to the NICU doctors and nurses who cared for my babies like they were their own. Thank you so much for the brilliant care I received and making me feel so safe and listened to. Im so glad I had my twins here as they were all so brilliant.

Weve had our first baby here just a couple of weeks ago and I can truly say this was an amazing experience mainly due to the midwifes, doctors and nurses there. The surgery team was amazing, walking us through every step and make sure that both me and my other half were okay every few minutes. They have even offered to take photos for us before and after the operation. Throughout the whole delivery they made us feel special, answered every question and clarified every concern, and I have to say that it felt like that wasnt just one more surgery for them in a day at work like any other day. Once we were moved on the TCU we were again impressed by the care and empathy of the staff there. Im sorry I couldnt remember the names of all the staff there that were truly amazing, but I can say that every single one did an amazing job looking after me and my little one even though they sometimes seemed swamped and under immense pressure. Mel was the one that looked after us first, and Joe helped on the day we were released, and offering to help with the tongue tie before we were dismissed made a huge difference for my first couple of days of breastfeeding! Im sorry I cant remember the name of one of the student midwifes that were there on the last night but I can say she was clearly made for this job! Not only she was kind and caring, but was also extremely keen to help, extremely confident and seemed like she had been doing this job for over 20 years! This truly was an amazing experience for us and all the credit goes to the wonderful staff at St Marys!
