We saw a promotion on Facebook and booked a night in the training centre hotel and a tour of the facilities. So glad we did, what an interesting experience. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we got to try out the lifeboat simulator and see the training pool (it wasnt in action when we were there at the weekend, but we did get to see videos of people being trained in it). The hotel room was spotless and comfortable and we had breakfast and an evening meal in the restaurant. The food was of a decent pub style standard. The company running the restaurant had apparently recently changed and some of the newer waiting staff (not RNLI) needed a little more training. Overall though, a really good experience and one that I have already recommended to others. I would certainly visit again.
