Staff expect 20% tip, from large party, make sure staff are not slating customers in ear shot next time. I was at a wedding, the married couple are retired and dont have a lot of money which is why they picked a toby carvery. And if you had earned and worked for you 20% instead of letting the best man clear the tables you may have got it. Also when i arrived to set up, section was Reserved and moved into a shoe horse which i Appreciate, manger came over asked if he could help so was just about to show him the set up and he just ran off. I Appreciate that u were busy but you know this party of 20 was coming so extra staff maybe. Also the couple did leave a tip that they could afford as a retired couple. Not everyone can afford a 20% tip for a party of 20. As for the food was all good apart from beef was very tough and fatty couldn't eat it.

The staff was nice and the place looks however the food was awful. The meat (which has a small serving of 160 grams for 14 pounds a person) is either half cooked or half chewy. The vegetables are undercooked. Neither me, my wife or my son could finish the food. Even the mac and cheese was 30% burnt and it took almost 15 minutes for them to change it for another one. Overall as a restaurant we found the food pretty tasteless.

Staff are very welcoming and lovely, unfortunately it was a very standard roast dinner. For being in the countryside my expectations were high, very basic trimmings compared to what we get back home in London. It's my second time in poole toby carvery. The first time was the same but I thought it could be a one off.
