I cannot warn you strongly enough not to instruct this company. I will share the email I sent to head office (which never got a response) which I think outlines all you'll need to know if you're thinking of using TaxAssist. I am now having to find another more reliable and competent firm and start from scratch. "I have been working with One of your colleagues in the Poole office for the last 2 months regarding a tax return. I was told initially this should only take a couple of weeks to complete but it drags on and on. He has now missed both the initial deadline the HMRC gave for return and the extension he tells me he negotiated. I don't hear from him for days/weeks at a time despite emailing, calling and leaving messages which never get returned. There's never any real apology or explanation when I do get hold of him. I am getting additional interest added daily to the amount I owe HMRC, this is now nearly an additional 300 out of my pocket since the initial deadline passed because of a delay I'm not aware of any genuine reason for. I know your staff are self employed and you say that complaints should be taken up directly with them but I have been getting absolutely nowhere. I am at the stage where I cannot trust a single word he says as he has not delivered on a single promise or timescale he has ever given me. I can't tell you the amount of stress and anxiety this has caused me over the last 2 months. I am losing sleep and ending up in tears of frustration and hopelessness with the situation. Please, please is there anyone else I can talk to or deal with to get this resolved?"
