        Arranged for Doorteck to service my roller garage door on 30th January as it had been intermittently stopping. The engineer identified the problem was due to the incorrect configuration of the control system by Doorteck when they installed it in 2013. When Doorteck first serviced it in 2019, despite me pointing out the problem on closing, that engineer failed to identify the problem. I continued to put up with the faltering door thinking it was down to grit or dirt and I regularly wiped down the guide rails and bottom seal. I should have contacted them again but I thought it was down to my maintenance. After this week's service revelation I contacted Doorteck's owner and politely pointed out that given the circumstances he might want to offer to do this service gratis. He responded "I don't understand why you think this service would be free." and "it's all a bit sus to be honest." He steadfastly refused to acknowledge his own engineer's finding, that Dooreck had incorrectly configured the control system on installation and failed to spot their error at the 2019 service. It is so true that you can judge the quality of a company by how they deal with a problem. Paid the 96 for this week's 30 minute service and moved on.
