Parish Church of St Mary

My grandma and mum lived in the village in Poddington and my gran married a estate manager there but shortly after he past away and the rose bush near the entrance to the church was originally planted the by my gran and as kids we visited the church and surrounding area lovely little church and village brings back so many happy memories of been a child exploring the old church and Poddington

The church building has been dated back as far as 12th Century, with later additions. Blocked up small round-headed windows can still be seen in some of the walls. The lead-lined font has Romanesque carving. There are some stone coffin lids set into outside walls in a decorative way. Behind the church a path extends down into a wooded area. Free parking is available on the side of the road. The church is not far from a moated site.
