So, we asked Patsy to help him see where his strengths and weaknesses lay. Over the last 8-9 months we've seen him flourish and gain confidence in every way, and I know that the relationship he build (virtually) with Patsy is a big part of that.
We built the time up to 2 hours a week, and I think he will start his new school far ahead of where he would have been if he'd stayed in what was a poor learning environment for him. He now states he wants to be a writer - this is despite writing being deemed his weakest area, as his handwriting is his biggest disability, he literally is unable to write anything legibly.
I cannot thank Patsy enough for her patience with him, for helping him grow to the young man he is now. Never once did he complain about having to learn, she made it interesting to him, even though she also managed to squeeze in plenty of curriculum stuff.
She also took the time and effort to research which books/poets etc, his new school would be studying in the coming academic year. He'll be ahead when he starts. My only worry now is that he'll be so ahead he'll be bored
