I had a bad experience last year with a cattery, when I collected our boy he was really distressed, the cattery owner tried to drag him out of the cage he was in and he clung to the wire. I ended up trying to get him and he scratched me for the first time ever. We only left him a week, and this year we were going away for a fortnight so needed someone who was going keep him calm. Rachael was amazing. I told her about my concerns and she couldn't have done more to reassure us. We had planned a little short break, one or two nights so he could get used to it, which would have been brilliant, but Covid prevented that from happening. So, straight in with 2 weeks indoors for a cat that loves to go out and hunt at night (he's pretty lazy most of the time, but a couple of times a week he does like to bring us a present). She asked lots about our boy, wanting to get to know him so she could keep him happy, his likes, dislikes etc. We got updates, which was lovely, we could have had more I'm sure, but my son would have missed his boy more if we kept talking about him, so we kept his mind away from the cat and didn't ask for any while we were away other than the ones that Rachael provided. We returned to a very happy, chilled out boy, who has started using his little tray for the first time ever, something we're pleased about, he'd either go outside, or occasionally would use a pile of washing..... so the fact he'll use his litter now is fabulous. He's also more cuddly with the family on a whole now, only giving cuddles to our son before. I would use Penrose again without any hesistation. It was an additional 2 per night compared to that other place, which was at the cheapest end of the costs we saw, but it was like the difference between a cheap and nasty hostel and a 4 star hotel, so worth every penny.

My little 1 year old cat was so well looked after, he even got his cuddles from Rachael as requested :) We had photos and updates about him as it was his first time in a cattery hotel. Bilbo cat and I have discussed going back there for a holiday and he is more than happy to. Thank you for looking after Bilbo Cat, our break was made even better with the knowledge he was being looked after so well.

First time stay for my cat, as the previous place I'd used for many years had closed. Rachael is great, such a lovely person & made me feel at ease. My cat seems to have loved it too. Will definitely be using again.
