ICIRS Independent Damp & Timber Surveys

Ian has been an absolute star. We used him for two damp and timber surveys when moving home over 2 years ago. The first report he did showed a high level of damp from one side of the property throughout which resulted in us not proceeding. He provided a survey on a different property and was extremely thorough from top to bottom (chimney to cellar) highlighting some issues that werent even part of the survey we asked him to carry out. He talked me through the report thoroughly and provided advice on who to go to for any remedial work, he made sure to assure me he was available to talk to if I had any concerns or needed further explanations. A new issue has presented itself and after calling Ian he happily provided advice over the phone and a contact for woodworm treatment, but has also been out to the property to check on suspected damp issues that have become apparent recently. He gave advice on what the issue may be and how to attempt to repair it. We would use no one else when it comes to surveys either with any issues with this property or if we move in the future. Would not hesitate to recommend Ian if you need a reliable thorough and honest survey. He has offered ongoing support and we feel fully confident that he will be available for advice should we need to ask.

I am very pleased with the service provided by Ian Cole. My partner and I contacted Ian for advice on a serious damp problem in our porch, and a corner wall in a downstairs room. In both situations, we were uncertain of the exact cause, or causes, but Ian's depth of knowledge and expertise has enabled us to identify the issues, and start to take steps to protect our home. Ian is happy for us to contact him in the future with any further questions relating to these damp issues, so it's great to know that he's there to advise. I would recommend that anyone with damp issues in their home contact Ian, before contacting builders. Damp is such a potentially damaging problem, that it is better to be sure of the solution from an expert first. The information we now have, enables us to approach builders knowing in detail what we need to achieve.

We were experiencing water penetrating into our kitchen extension. Ian came recommended and we looked at the positive reviews before booking him. They were spot on, Ian was quick to respond, clear and concise advising what he could provide and booked in quickly. His communication was great and I was informed throughout. Polite and professional and very helpful. Still waiting for tradesmen to do the work recommended so can't say if the problem is solved but I'm confident if it isn't Ian will continue to assist and provide advice. We wanted someone to tell us what was required rather than a builder or roofer tell us we needed unnecessary work. We are now informed and can request suitable work. Would definetly use again when we buy our next house for survey. Thank you Ian
