An absolute disgrace of a care home which has been allowed to exist in the system. The rooms were dirty, inhabitable and not fit for use. The outdoor area was laden with cigarettes and dead flowers, left over from a funeral. The clients in the care home were left without assistance and on one occasion (that Im aware of) were ignored for hours, despite me asking a member of staff to assist her. My own mother was a client for 24 hours when I made the decision to discharge her. Following her arrival, there was no induction or welcome, the bathroom was left soiled and unusable. As well as the staff members leaving her with no assistance to get out of bed; thus resulted in my mother being left in her bed from 10pm until 5pm the following day. After speaking to a member of staff about our decision to discharge her due to the poor care, there was no enquiry into the despicable care and no attempt has been made since to follow up on this. This was now 7 months ago- how has the care system allowed individuals to run privately owned care homes and yet rate them satisfactory on the Care Quality Commission report? If you are reading this, you should act in one of two ways- A) do not choose this care home for anybody you know or b) carry out a full inspection of these premises. I will continue to share this with the CQC.
