Knowle House Surgery

Got told that my xrays (chest) came back as normal. Considering I have c.o.p.d how can that be very concerned have had to klink in an attempt to get an appointment

Absolutely shocking surgery. On an appointment a Dr just kept repeating that I'd had a stroke then asked when, was I sure. Then stated I had to go to A&E as he thought I was having a Stoke, despite my alertness and different set of symptoms I walked out. Now been asked to leave the practice. Apparently this surgery has a record of getting rid of any patient who dares to question or complain about extremely poor unprofessional service. As reported in evening herald recently. Another appointment yesterday and over an hour wait to be told Dr had a problem. The patient in front of me had been there over two hours waiting! Today again told over an hour wait if I was lucky. They proudly display a, sign which states out of 6055 telephone calls, and 542 online klinik forms they only managed 147 face to face with a doctor, and 226 face to face with a nurse. Not a great achievement to be proud of!

Absolutely the best GP surgery I have been to. Everyone is so pleasant, polite and helpful. I have a couple of long term health issues and get well looked after with repeat prescription via the internet and if I am feeling really unwell the Klinik online system works a treat. I had quite a dangerous health problem a while back and my GP Dr. Garstang immediately thought of what it could be and I was sent to Derriford. Dr Garstang's swift action and knowledge saved me from something that is not common and could be life changing. Dr McCartney diagnosed me with another problem after I told him, in one sentence, what was happening with me! The Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Reception staff are always polite and caring. The new Klinik and repeat prescription online service is flawless and worth getting to. I lived in the USA for 15 years and the healthcare system there is very difficult to navigate. I had a few leg surgeries which had a good outcome but I found the Doctor's not as warm, caring and genuine as our NHS. I was very well insured so money wasn't the problem.... I feel really lucky in that when I came back to England to retire I walked into Knowle House and joined them back in 2009. We have thought of moving a few times and end up dismissing that as we don't want to leave Knowle House. FACT Were this a hotel it would be a 5 star!

In a day and age where its all digital, not everyone has a capacity. As I was waiting I witness an elderly gentleman who wanted to make an appointment at the desk. Where he was turned away as a receptionist is "unable" to submit that information. So he has to do an online consultation or phone through. This seems like waste of time for someone who has very low chance to use online and then spend 30 min (if lucky) waiting on the phone. When all you have to do is triage the questions to a doctor over the desk as it will be the same system as you have over the phone. If you recruit receptionist that have no empathy or time to do their job then you should really reconsider your values! Taking and noting down symptoms takes 5 min
