Really happy with the service provided by Garden Care services - Kevin, John and all of their team members were extremely on top of details, even since negotiating the work that needed to be done in our garden , during the execution and Melissa was always there in order to follow up any request(s). We now have used Garden Care services for clearing our garden, planting, fencing and landscaping of our garden. Services: Hedge trimming, Landscape design, Yard work, Sod installation

Spent a small fortune on fencing several years ago with them which went okay. Now I need a damaged post and 1 panel replacing. They quoted for the works but then withdrew as they refused to supply the same panels used on the original installation, insisting on fitting a mismatched panel as they've changed suppliers (previous supplier still in business with panels in stock?!). Pretty disappointed, no after care or respect for previous customers, wish we'd gone elsewhere originally, think twice if you expect any sort of subsequent support... Service: Fencing installation

Two guys turned up this morning on time to mulch my beds. They were courteous, professional and friendly. They even cleared a load of leaves before starting work. I am absolutely delighted with the work they did and they have taken away the worry for the future of how to get work done in my garden as we get older. I dont usually do reviews but on this occasion I really wanted to! Services: Yard work, Mulching, Gardening services

Appalling and unprofessional. We used GCS for 4months at the end of 2022 for one garden tidy + regular maintenance. We couldn't be more disappointed. They are generally unable to commit to a rota and do a very poor job when they finally do. Communication is very poor. ONE-OFF GARDEN TIDY We had been unable to weed the garden for a few months in the summer due to having a newborn, so we asked them to generally clean up borders and trim the hedge. The service cost 395. * Didn't turn up The session was cancelled on the day, and it took several goes to reschedule it. It finally took place two weeks later. We were flexible and didn't mind the delay too much. * Damage to the garden We expected a thorough job but the team of 3men was done in 45min. In that time they had removed: - a beautiful winter Clematis worth 20 which I had trained for months across our patio and was about to bloom. - 3 lush heather plants which we had planted to celebrate the birth of our eponymous daughter 5years earlier. - a large bush of catmint and 2 geraniums. - they unearthed (and apparently took away) most of our tulip, iris and daffodil bulbs when 'weeding' with a rotary tool. They left behind the roots of many weeds, two ivy plants going through our stone path (which admittedly could be seen as being there on purpose), and one large bramble in plain sight. We should have left it at that but, while they didn't apologise, they accepted to compensate us financially for the loss of the plants, and we proceeded with the garden care, wrongly believing that the 'gardening' team would be more qualified than the 'tidying up' team. GARDEN MAINTENANCE * Not turning up We agreed on a 2week rota. In 3months, they came 4times. - Every time it rained, they were unable to come. - They are unable to let you know they won't come as 'the team doesn't have work mobile phones and can only tell the head office in the evening that they didn't do the work.' - They are also unable to let you know when they will reschedule. - For that reason, they advise you to give them the key and never wait for them. Our gate has an inside padlock so this arrangement doesn't work. However, we both work from home, so there is always someone here to open when they come. We are flexible and don't mind if an exact day can't be committed to, but we would like a two-week service when we request one, even roughly. On one occasion, we had no news for two weeks, effectively skipping one session through delay and lack of rescheduling. We were eventually told this wouldn't happen if they had a key.. * Garden damage - The session, for a medium-sized garden in a semi-detached, for a team of 2, lasted 30min. - They cut down a Magnolia tree to hedge-height without asking, certainly to make their access easier to trim the hedge, taking off 6years of growth in the process and without any care for the health/structure of the tree: they left a flat straight top, in line with the hedge. - They refused to weed the lavender border as this can't be done with a tool and 'doing it by hand would take too much time.' - They used chemical weed-killer without our approval. When I mentioned the weeds kept growing back in one border due to the rotary tool leaving roots behind, they left a note in the letterbox stating they had used Roundup. We had expressed our wish not to use chemicals. - We asked that plant care could please be substituted to mowing the lawn/cutting the hedge at least once per month as we don't need a perfectly neat garden and are happy to let it grow for wildlife and environmental reasons. They still mowed and cut the hedge every time. - No plant or lawn care was ever done (pruning, preparing for the winter, advice on care) as had originally been promised - Erratic communication When we queried these issues again on the day of a session, the response was that 'to save you being inconvenienced further we will have to take you off the schedule." No advance notice, no apologies, no interest in improving our experience. I shared this feedback with them but received no answer.
