Delightful pub with good choice of beers and excellent food. Nice circular walk from here too; ask the staff for the route.

Although it was a quick visit by me, our motorcycle club was made very welcome and we were allowed to park on the most level part of the tarmac car park. Fine selection of drinks and from what I heard from those who did sample the food they were very impressed. Hope to visit again soon whether it be club meet or any other reason.

Beautiful building in a quiet setting. Welcoming to dogs, muddy boots, children and jodhpur- wearers. The menu is extensive, which I usually take as a bad sign. Sure enough, the food was poor, though they can fry breadcrumbed and battered things, such as whitebait, perfectly well. The lasagne hadn't seen a tomato, onion, garlic or bechamel sauce and it had puddles of oil sitting on top. The hollandaise sauce didn't taste as if it had seen butter or lemon juice. However, the nachos were enjoyed. Bar staff were pleasant. It's a real pity they can't offer better for because there isn't a good pub for miles.
