The Golden Ball

We celebrated my fathers 80th at the Golden Ball. Chelsea was so helpful and accommodating leading up to the day and on the day itself. The food was wonderful and the staff attentive. Couldnt fault it.

Oh dear went here for lunch last week. We only wanted something light so we went for a starter. Each. I had mushrooms on a slice of toast and my friend had pate with toast. I had a glass of prosecco and a offee. My friend had a diet coke. The bill came to 43.00 I thought they'd made a mistake. When queried it with the waitress she said it was correct and its expensive because it's all freshly made. I would expect that anyway. The prices on the menu are put against the choices without a pound sign which looks a bit misleading. I was shocked at the expense and really felt I was being ripped off. My starter of mushrooms on toast- which tasted very salty cost 12.00 my friends cost 14.00 I would expect to pay that in an up market restaurant not in a posh pub. I shall never go again. A rip off place!
