My father was in this home for just over a year. I am sorry to say that I don't believe he received adequate care from the get go I was not happy and voiced a concern which did not go down very well a few weeks after he moved in. He seemed to deteriorate quite rapidly, after being in this home a few months his ankles had swollen considerably, then he just could'nt walk, everytime I visited he was sat there with a bib on and messy with food. Maybe the home did not have sufficient experience working with dementia resident I don't know but when we left some of the answers that they had written on the form before he left were incorrect eg. said my father could communicate his needs! My father has moved to a new care home and after been in there 2 weeks his ankles are no longer swollen because they are elevating his feet and massaging, he is now feeding himself again and is a lot more responsive, the care is completely different and we can see the change in him.
