We do a circular walk with the dog around the village and the small excavations are here which are interesting. There are boards near the walk with illustrations on too. Nice country shop in village too.

Located ar the back of the village. This Roman fort with its courtyards buildings and bath house wall foundations. Plus the east gate and outer wall founds. set next to the dere street Roman road from york of to corbridge and beyond, to a wall made of earth between Glasgow and Edinburgh before Hadrians wall was built . Well worth the time to enjoy the history
