For a few months during 1976-77, I attended here when it was the village school, teaching juniors and infants. Education and me never really got on, but here it was like entering a different world. The weekly lessons always followed the same timetable, but I took part in lessons that were based on our location in the middle of the countryside. I learnt how to weave baskets, won a book for a topic I did and enjoyed trips out, one to find the source of the River Piddle, which when we found it. lived up to its name, being just a piddle. I have to thank Mr Billinge and Mrs Pickett for providing me a new and different view of learning.
