Sunnyside is a Fantastic new build house, 2 bedrooms up and 2 down all with bathrooms, Great if your a railway enthusiast or not. The steam train passes right behind a few times a day. Kids will love waving to the passengers, we did, we stayed on a girls weekend. We walked into Pickering ( 20+ mins) .had a mooch and lunch and went on a bus to Pocklington one day and explored and had tea and got a taxi to wine tasting at Ryedale vineyards ( had so much fun ) amongst other things we did. House is very modern and beautifully presented. Ample parking. Would have loved to come back with family but sadly it is not dog friendly. However we have already said we will look at returning together again soon. Everyone including hosts ( Whom we met on departure ) were super friendly. As my friend booked she did all the correspondence and was spot on. They have 2 labs so that says how fab they are ( fellow lab owner). I really struggle with mattresses due to a neck and back issue, I was in a downstairs double and I have to say I slept like a log it was so comfy. The Woodburner in the lounge was lovely and lovely walks on the doorstep. The first day we tentatively waved at the train, lots waved and the odd reluctant one joined in and then smiled. This then became a ritual/ mission and when in we would run when we heard one to wave ( 6 women over 40, feeling like little kids again- I think the wine helped lol ) Thankyou for a lovely stay in a beautiful house and location. ( it's definately 5* ) the only thing personally i would like to see would be blackout blinds on the windows ( the lovely blinds let light through early morning) and blinds on the rest ( that's a personal choice and not a reflection on the house and won't put us off staying again ) we will be back and have found a hidden gem and we have lots planned for our next visit already. Thank you so much again for letting us stay.
