This is more than a library: it's a place for young mothers to come with their children, let them play (and make as much noise as they want), meet their friends and get some respite from being a busy mum; it's also a place where retired people can get the latest book on crime or nature or history; and it's also a place where people like me (living on a houseboat on the nearby canal) can come and use the internet, a desk and catch up with the world. I love the fact that there are no rules about being silent as I don't mind the sound of people talking and children babbling. I also love the fact that Wiltshire County Council consider it a community resource that shouldn't be closed down to save money. If this place was closed down it would be tragic for the community, none of whom have the numbers to make much of a protest. You could call it a Community Centre but that term has become degraded over the years and, in my mind at least, means a run down and unheated hall used for occasional parties and ping pong matches.
