Spotless park with excellent facilities and great value for money. It had better facilities than the caravan club for 30 less. Four years after my previous review , I have been invited by Morris leisure to review my recent visit so Inthink I need to update my opinion..I have always been a huge fan of this park and visit most months up until now, but unfortunately it has now been taken over by Morris leisure and quite frankly I think they have ruined it. They have increased the prices and the capacity by installing extra pitches but have not increased the infrastructure. I have just spent 4 dreadful nights at the park and experienced power cuts, contractors driving around the park like lunatics, ( I nearly got run over by an electrician in his van ), a very ropey internet connection that kept dropping out where on two occasions my iPad told me there were too many people on the network which could not cope. The park is currently heavily discounting their prices with a variety of discounts to entice people to visit. It is still too expensive even with the discounts. It is busier now than I have ever seen it at this time of the year. This however is not a good thing. The consequences of which is the there is a lot of dog mess around the park which I have not seen before. There are now too many people in a small space and the park infrastructure cannot cope. They have also removed the camping pitches to make way for serviced pitches which is so sad. My family can no longer come on holidays with me in their tent. I was told there is more money in motorhomes and caravans . I wont be going back any time soon as the prices are eye watering without the discounts. During my visit, numerous other new customers told me that they will not be going back when the discounts are removed either. In fact it was the only reason they came in the first place. There seems to be a misconception that people will blindly pay the inflated prices. Lets not forget the site is a long way from anywhere and the nearest village is a mile walk along a very dangerous country road with a lot of heavy vehicles. Morris leisure are in for a shock. They are affiliated to the caravan club which has also increased their prices ( and unlike Morris leisure, dont charge for dogs ) and it has come back to bite the caravan club. The club are now offering 20 percent off pitches going forward because they cant sell some pitches . I learned this at the Cheddar site last month where I was surrounded by empty serviced pitches. It is so frustrating to see Poston Mill, a once great park go downhill but like many others I refuse to pay more money for worse facilities. The unique selling points of Poston Mill park were it was in a quiet rural location with a superb dog walk, a free nine hole golf course plus a great pub on site. What was once a well run, welcoming, family owned site with friendly staff that had time to speak to the customers, is now a full blown commercial site where the standards have dropped and the staff are looking over their shoulder in case they will be told off for time wasting. Yes it happened to me. Morris leisure even go out of their way to tell you not to wash your car and caravan on site which is particularly annoying. Due to the narrow roads and volume of farm tractors and trailers in the area you are highly likely to arrive in a mud or manure splattered outfit. It is now too full to enjoy. I only have a few positive notes. 1. The shop is now open longer because it is now in reception ( but there is less choice ), 2 . Reception is now open longer as well and the most important point is 3 ..the Mill pub goes from strength to strength. Good on you Dan and Fi.
