Just a FYI and caution............. I called this company explaining my issues with my automatic mereceds cla not going in to gear and the noises very clearly!to see what I could possibly be was advised to bring it down as would need to be diagnosed!keeping in mind im based over 3hrs away so had to get a recovery vehicle to bring it down which wasn't the issue. I brought the vehicle to them on Monday the 3rd for DIAGNOSTIC! Not heard anything so rang back on Thursday for update as no communication at all. then was called back and told it wasn't diagnosed but likely to be a gearbox fault or electronical fault within the gearbox so quoted from 1500 to 2300 without vat was told might be one fault or both so looking at over 4000 worst case scenario I was a bit taken back as wasn't diagnosed to be sure before such a expensive cost to be considered so had a think over bank holiday and yet again called back on Tuesday to speak to the person handling my car but was not in so only the receptionist spoke to us was a bit disappointed by the lack of communication or customer Care so decided to pick up my car again which incurred another recovery cost back home as decided something is not right to decide such a cost without being diagnosed upon my arrival my car was exactly where it was the day I dropped it! No person came to assist that was meant to be dealing with my car very cold and kind of aggressive approach by a in-house work man that works there just asked want going on and any information to no I don't have a clue and handed my keys and a paper to say car was dropped at there shop very unprofessional and awkward meeting considering they didn't do anything looked like they weren't interested in handling my car or to serve me I was appalled how horrible this whole thing turned out wasted over 700 to just transport a car they knew did not drive nor change gears to be told well it doesn't drive so we can't find a fault till we open the gearbox should of told me this before me delivering the car! Upon my return to Manchester took it to a local garage and turned out the drive shaft came out and needed new gearbox oil and guess what it now drives amazing just shocked how another gearbox specialist decided to actually put my car on a ramp and check the issues it might be before diagnosing a gearbox fault as when they actually did diagnose it in Manchester turned out to be a very simple repair under 200 compared to this company!!!!! I'm appalled at there customers care and lack of wanting to actually do what the car came for they did a bare minimum in 2023 I would of hoped all customers get same treatment not just there own people I felt like my custome is not wanted by this company and we were more of a waste of time disappointed is a under statement made me waste all that money for my car to be parked up well 700 for my car to sit at planet gears I would ask anyone to get second opinion before parting with this (English run family company) as they are not the most helpful or friendly bunch as we were treated as a inconvenience that's wasting there time so thank you so much to myself for having second option Ps also charged a recovery car for damaging a metal plank that was given to help get the car off the truck not telling the driver its not fit for use or damaged already!!! Made him pay for it 90 plus vat! Make ot make sense? Very unprofessional will be reported as not happy with this treatment maybe not used to different people from onset strange behaviour is a understatement avoid if possible this is my first hand expirence and shocked to say the least! I've just recently used the service, as I thought I had a problem with my Mercedes ML 7G tronic gearbox . Roy was very helpful from the first call. He was gathering complex information from my previous repairs. My car was tested (taken for a spin) minor repair was done ( not related to gearbox) No issue was found with the gearbox. I have been supported with advice and guidance with No charge for anything. So thankful for their help and honesty. Ewa Service: Transmission
