I had a hip replacement on 5th September 2022, the level of care I received was exceptional. The operation was a great success, I have my mobility back, and my quality of life is back to where it should be! I cant thank Mr Shair and his team enough.

I am so happy with my experience at the orthopedic spine hospital, my operation was 8 weeks ago, I had fractured my L4 and had spinal stenosis, which had impacted my life for 7 years plus. The surgeon, all the staff were amazing and I couldn't have asked for better. I am well on the mend now and can't not thank them especially the skilled surgeon enough. Catherine

I am currently on massive waiting list for hip replacement and thought I would try and get referred to this hospital through Patient Choice on the NHS. So I didn't burn my bridges, I luckily decided to pay for a consultation before asking GP to refer me. I was declined due to being overweight. I was weighed at my current hospital and no mention of a problem and added to their long list. I am writing because I think it would be kind to put any exclusions before accepting people for consultation. The consultation cost 200 for 15/20 minutes. We are struggling financially as I have had to stop work due to being unable to stand for hours, and finding this sum was difficult. I understand that tiny hospitals can only take low risk patients as they have no facilities if things go wrong. I was asked about blood pressure smoking and diabetes, no doubt if I had suffered any of these, which I don't, I would have been refused. I do not know my current weight as we support our son with an eating disorder and do not have scales in the house. Surprisingly the Orthopaedic hospital doesn't either, as the consultant said he could tell by looking at me. Yes I will try and lose weight but not easy when you can't walk. If my hips could be replaced my general health would improve. I was always extremely active. This is to warn people that unless you are very low risk you won't get treated here, on the NHS, which probably explains their good results too. It would be kind, especially in this time of financial difficulty, for desperate people trying to elleviate chronic pain and get their life back, if it could be made clear the exclusions before accepting a consultation fee. The consultant agreed I needed a replacement. I left feeling extremely disheartened and looking at months more of chronic pain and the loss of the life I once had.
