Purple Sage Catering 4 Cumbria

Martin and jan did the catering for our wedding near Hartsop. They did a fantastic job - very good communication and extremely reliable, calm and collected on the day (despite it being a big wedding) which helped settle our nerves after a stressful week. The food was amazing - the slow roast lamb some of the best we had ever tasted and a fantastic pavlova to finish! It was exactly what we wanted and we are so grateful to them for helping to make it such a fantastic day.

Martin, Jan & team are simply incredible! We decided on Purple Sage/ Catering 4 Cumbria as the caterers for our planned June 2020 wedding. Of course the dreaded Covid caused a delay, but exactly 1 year later we finally got the day we had hoped for. Martin & Jan were great in the run up, helping us with everything from menu selections and logistics. They even recced the venue for us in advance to scout out the best places to setup and serve drinks, food etc. The whole team worked tirelessly throughout the day on everything from cooking up, serving drinks & canaps, waiting tables to keeping the bar stocked up with drinks and ice! Right, the best bit, food. Simply put the food was amazing! We started with a great selection of canaps including delicious stuffed potato skins, roast veg filled lettuce leaves and even mini Yorkshire's with beef & horseradish which were highly priced by our guests! Our starters, which consisted of mixed maze platters, were incredible, with a special shout out to the black pudding scotch eggs! Veggie & gluten free variants were also highly praised. Mains were steak and chicken in a mixture of marinates + an amazing selection of salads. All incredibly well cooked with an amazing choice of sauces, from Martins sweet chilli sauce to the classic peppercorn steak sauce. Everyone rushed up for seconds before it all went. Desserts were Jan's special sharing pavlovas. As well as being big enough to make a great statement piece, they were so tasty that despite the huge main course portions prior they were almost completely devoured by all our guests. That evening we were treated to a delicious traditional paella and veggie risotto to finish things off. What wasn't polished off was neatly packed away for us and we were able to finish it off the next day for lunch! We can't thank Martin & Jan + team more for the amazing, food, amazing service & on the day adjustments as our planned timetable slid a little. To put it simply they were outstanding from start to finish and made our wedding day so special! Here's to hoping we plan another catered event in Cumbria and can call on them again Thanks again Martin & Jan!

Found this by accident. All freshly cooked and great choice with friendly staff. Highly recommended.
