ZERO - ONE HUNDRED A little over a year ago, I decided to try Ultra Running with my ultimate goal of completing a 100km race, and I had not run further than 10km in many years. I found Lee (Ultramarathon.Coach) through a friend and decided to go all in for a few months to get the lay of the land, I was not new to endurance sports, so I thought three months should be fine. Lee has so much experience, knowledge and understanding of what is needed to complete an Ultra that over a year later, I am still working with him week in and week out. His coaching style is one of the best I have had in endurance sport; his easygoing demeanour and his ability to coach around your lifestyle, family and work needs make him a pleasure to work with. While He is not shy about telling you what is needed to achieve your goals, there are no stupid questions; believe me, I have asked a few, hahaha. He is always looking for feedback on how you feel if your diet is correct if you have the suitable kit, etc.; if something is missing, he will research it and send you options no matter where you are in the world! Everything you do is tailored to your needs, fitness and weakness. He has helped me with Strength and Conditions, Endurance, Diet, Pre & Post race nutrition, during race & training nutrition, mental toughness and installed confidence that I had what it took to be an Ultra Runner. Thanks to Lee's holistic coaching style and talent for knowing when to push and let things go, I have completed a 50km, 50 miles and 100km event; I am now hooked!! I know I will be working with Lee as long as I am running, which I hope to be for many years. If you want to complete a dream race, turn pro or get fitter, LEE IS YOUR MAN! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

12 months ago I decided to enter the lakesman half iron-man race. I had never attempted any triathlons but decided i needed a challange. I was 47 years old, unfit and drinking too much. Furthermore i couldn't even run 100m due to historic leg issues. With Lee's help and structured training plan I slowly built up my leg strength until i could average 20 miles a week. With his daily support, weekly video calls and plan i completed first a sprint then standard triathlon in preparation for the big one. I successfully completed the Lakesman in June and Lee was there to greet me at the finish line. Without Lee's support in the dark moments I would never have achieved my goal. With the confidence I now have, i've signed up again for next year to try and beat my time. With Lee's continued support I have no doubt I can do it!

Lee listened to me explain about my injury and the outcome I was hoping for. I followed his advice and the bespoke programme he developed for me and I am now well on the road to a full recovery! It's great to be able to enjoy running again! It was also really helpful to be able to email Lee with any questions as I went along and share the progress being made! Thanks a million!!!

I contacted Inner Fight as I wanted to maximise my preparation for joining the military, I believed Lees experience in the military himself as well as his knowledge on injury prevention and endurance training would be invaluable for helping me best prepare. We only had 2 months to work together as my military start date was brought forwards, but in that short period of time Lee took me from a 10km run being something that I would have to build up to over weeks of training, and I would feel for days after, to knocking out 10-13km runs most mornings off the week. We absolutely achieved the specific goals that I wanted to work towards and more. Day to day communication and tailoring of the program allowed me to keep improving the entire 2 months.

I have known Lee for a number of years and seen him complete a number of outrageous challenges from the Marathon Des Sables to the Spine Race. When I wanted to complete an ultramarathon of my own there was clearly only one person to turn to. I have done a number of events already; triathlon, bike rides, obstacles races etc. To this point my training has always been a bit haphazard and lacking any form of structure or direction. This led me to turn up on race days slightly anxious and hoping I'd done enough in training. Sometimes, I blatantly hadn't. Making the jump from half-marathon to ultra distance, I felt I needed the help. I spoke with Lee about the ultra I was looking at and what I needed to do. He gave me a tailored programme based on the amount of time I could commit to training and being a busy working dad. The training was specfic to my particular ultra with incremental increases in mileage and elevation and supplementary resistance workouts using on bands. Having a plan laid out in front of me made the ultra feel far more achievable. On race day I felt confident. I followed the plan almost to the letter and had banked hundreds of miles in training, feeling better than I ever had before. When the ultra was completed, I had finished in the top half and with no injuries. I am now looking forward to new challenges in the coming year and will no doubt be enlisting Lee's help. Lee isn't someone who has been there, done it and bought the T-shirt. He continues to go there, do things and buy the T-shirts. Clearly he practices what he preaches and is constantly evolving himself to new challenges.
