What a letdown! My family has used this company for over 50 years. But joining with the Co-op they have now lost the personal touch. Tried to arrange my mums funeral, to be told she couldnt go in the chapel of rest until a few days before the funeral and she would stay at a holding centre in Salford. (Sounds like a warehouse!) This meant I would not see my mum, as, it was going to be 3 weeks before the funeral. Therefore it would then be a closed coffin. Also, then told, that , they do not get involved with the donations received. So , be aware, that when you are organising a funeral, you are expected to be collecting all donations and then sending them off yourself (Barlows used to do this) , obviously, too much trouble for the Co-op! Made the decision to change Funeral directors, best decision made!

In the past we've always used Barlow's but would never go there again since the Co-op have taken over. Our mum passed away last August and what we asked for we never got the list is endless. In house communication was never passed on. They lost our mum's file with her fingerprint's and my brothers information in it. After endless visits and phone calls to the chapel of rest and saying I wanted to make a formal complaint, eventually mum's file was found after four months, a child could have taken her prints better. I made a formal complaint to head office and after numerous emails I got a response , that's after I stated that I was going to contact the information commissioner office. Nearly at the end of January now and still not resolved.

Emma, Clare and the team made the whole process of my Mother's Funeral absolutely stress free, which is exactly what was needed at a very difficult time. I cannot praise highly enough.
