        We stayed one night on a virgin package. Lovey room. Upgraded for our 30th anniversary. Delighted with flowers, wine and rose petals on bed. Very thoughtful. Food very good. Breakfast lovely. Would return.

        Rooms: Could do with modernising- bathroom would be better with a shower cubicle instead of narrow bath and shower curtain Food & drinks: Very good food for breakfast and dinner We were offered an excellent bottle of wine at reduced price - great choice by the waiter

        This is a nice hotel with some pleasant walks in the surrounding area. However, the pool was still closed when we arrived (I'd moved our original booking from a month before for that reason) which was a disappointment. Also, in our room (252) the carpet was very damp in a couple of places and there was a strong musty smell and also a sort of sweet sickly aroma on my husband's side of the bed (like something had been split and not cleaned up properly. We mentioned this to the nice lady on reception when we checked out and she was very apologetic. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the food/service I the restaurant was very good. If it wasn't for the pool and the smell I probably would have enjoyed my stay a lot more. Rooms: Our room had damp patches on the carpet and a musty smell.
