I come back time and time again , cant stay away TBH. To top it all theres free WIFI, I realize this intended for guests but I am essentially a guest but not in conventional sense. I havent actually slept inside the cabins but under the balcony is dry and sheltered from the wind. There is plenty of food waste in the bins and sometimes the paying guests leave stuff on the veranda overnight, which mysteriously vanishes. All in all very impressed , there are some holes with flags in on grass , and a perfect for a #2 and saves me digging:-)

Severe lack of safety and maintenance procedures in log cabins. Third time we have stayed here and these are repeated issues. Only stay here for a local event, would be very disappointed if it was for a holiday. Unsafe, broken socket leaving live area exposed. Rotten balastrades and steps outside. Cupboard door hanging off its hinges. Mold in one corner of master bedroom. Staff were absolutely brilliant, friendly welcoming, and helped with all the issues we raised, but there is clearly a lack of good maintenance. It is a shame to see such lovely cabins and big investment literally rotting away. Also, as a side point, I appreciate this is a golf hotel, but we repeatedly had golf balls hitting the roof and surrounding area of our cabin. We raised this as a concern with the management, for ourselves and our car. I would worry if I had kids playing outside. There must be a better safety measure they can put in place? The only thing that saved it was the lovely animals we went and sat with and fed each evening.

On 19th June we arrived at around 3.30pm to fingle glen reception to a very friendly front of house staff. As we were about to be handed the keys the cleaner arrived. The front of staff asked if lodges were ready and her flamboyant response with wide open arms that she had finished the cleaning of all the lodges and we would find ours pristine as this is why they take so long. On arrival to the lodge the first thing that was very noticeable was the badly decayed and dangerously loose wooden railings surrounding the lodge. Video attached. To our dismay after paying an extra 200 for the privilege of having a hot tub we discovered it was barely warm. Too chilly to use. Called reception we were informed that "with a bit of luck it should be warm enough late this evening or in the morning". This obviously eliminated any use on first night. Inside the VIP "PRISTINE" lodge I will bullet point the following issues which I believe to be unsatisfactory considering we were sold the idea of a VIP luxury break. 1) Cobwebs in all rooms in multiple places. 2) 1 toilet roll per toilet (4 guests, 4 nights) 3) cracked floor tiles in kitchen 4) Dirty broken electric heater in lounge (safety issue) 5) Kitchen units in a poor state ie. Dishwasher door snags on plynth and screws holding the frontal to dishwasher are poking through. On opening the door it just drops. 6) The laminate is peeling off the drawer units 7) The laminates on wall units are peeling off 8) One small baking tray which does not suffice basic cooking 9) Very dirty wooden spoon in cutlery try 10) Main bedroom - Bathroom mirror would appear to have blood stains trickling down front and side 11) The bathroom shower could not be used as no curtain or screen 12) No bath mat 13) Twin bedroom - Rotten window 14) Missing duvet cover 15) When beds put together popcorn was lining edge of bed on floor proving this was not thoroughly hoovered. 16) In the shower room we had to leave fan on permanently due to strong fousty smell. The sealant around the shower was very badly done and very mouldy. 17) The handle on drawer stack in both bedrooms came off. 18) The oven had no detail so all controls were guessed! 19)Front door mat is an indoor mat hence it was soaking wet on a dry day therefore had to wipe feet over threshold. 20) When we did get to use the hot tub it was full of dead flies and surrounding by rotten timber work. ( please refer to attached photo reference to hot tub hideaways which says " dreamy") If you click on check availability it directs to your website! Things to note it states on Hoseasons website soap / sanitiser provided however this was not the case. Hot tub care cleaned, sanitised and checked daily however with the flies and cobwebs and rubbish down both sides of hot tub this is evidence this hot tub was not cleaned, sanitised or checked daily as specified. The toilet in shower room had a leak. This was reported on Sunday afternoon and we were told that someone from maintenance would be with us first thing in the morning and suggested we do not use this bathroom and use the main one where are friends would be sleeping. We left the lodge lunchtime and when we got back still nobody had attended. At this stage the leak had covered the floor in shower room. We called reception again and lady on this occasion get someone over within 10 minutes. He took panel off. Looked behind the cistern and put panel back and said yes you have a leak. He said he would have a word with the manager. Nothing more was heard and we had to use a towel to mop up water to stop it going into hall. On day of departure we remopped the floor, return key and on mentioning the leak again the lady appeared surprised it had not been done! To summarise as advertised by fingle glen lodges this is not finished to exceptionally high standards and attention to detail not the case. Cleanliness not as described. Health and safety are terrible.
