Impressive working tower mill to be found on the hillside of Pakenham village, overlooking Ixworth. The small mill was built in 1831, & is a similar design to the one at Bardwell, with a black tarred tower & white sails. Pakenham is the only English village still boasting active examples of BOTH types of traditionally powered mills. On the local windmill trail & within easy travelling distance of the windmills at Stanton (non-functional), Thelnetham, & Bardwell (both functional), as well as the local Water Mill...
