Booked here as I needed time away from the busyness of London to refocus, write and think. The hotel was quiet. I was on 1st floor above the entrance which I was a bit annoyed about when I realized that but it was surprisingly still quiet anyway. I liked that it had Lidl, Morrison's, favourites, Gregg's and subway within a 5 minute walk. Same as a bus stop to Bluewater. It also had a park and some green space nearby. I'm a walker and I walked to Gravesend town center and the riverside. Was a nice walk, past a park and a few restaurants. It took 30mins. Negative points - reception. I didn't need to buy wifi as I have unlimited data but there was hardly any reception so some things I was trying to do ended up taking longer than it should. - Some kind of alarm went off on my second night around 6am which was really annoying, but I guess that's not their fault. An apology or explanation would have been nice though. I didn't know if it had to evacuate or not. - They don't have flannels. I asked a worker for one and she said there were only hand towels and bath towels. Never had to bring my own to Travelodge before. - The remote control didn't fully work, so it was stuck at one volume. I changed the batteries and it still didn't work. - At 12:02pm as I was putting on my shoes the receptionist came knocking on my door saying I needed to leave. (checkout is 12pm) I found that so weird as I've never been kicked out of Travelodge before. I used the bathroom before my 3 hour journey back home and as I left the room at 12:06 the receptionist was walking towards my door again. There's usually at least a 10 min grace. But not here obviously. Fair enough, the housekeeper probably just wanted to go home as I could hear her talking outside my room. Overall I got what I needed to from my time here. I wouldn't tell people not to come here as I had a great sleep the first night and the location is great! Also if you love Toby Carvery the hotel is just opposite one. Room was spacious, quiet, mostly clean (dust in corners of carpets) the Aircon/heater worked really well but everytime someone flushed the toilet it seems I could hear the pipes. Walkability: Lidl, Morrison's, park, Gregg's all Under 5 minutes walk away. I walked to Gravesend in 30 mins.
