Ilythia Birthing Company- Hypnobirthing with Sophie Webb

My other half and I are due in 6 weeks and decided to give Hypnobirthing a try as wed heard only good things. We went with the express course with x2 2.5 hour sessions. When we met with Sophie we were instantly put at ease and loved how unpressurised we felt. Her tone is so easy to listen to and even when you are practising breathing and relaxation with her, you dont feel awkward at all. We love the affirmations we received as part of the course and listen to them every night. We were worried that Hypnobirthing would be a bit too hippy for us, but how wrong we were. It was amazing to hear this side of birth and learn about the history and science behind it, also what options we have. What we loved was that Sophie didnt try and push anything on us or make any of our choices for birth seem wrong. We would have never considered Hypnobirthing before being pregnant but now we couldnt imagine being without it! Sophies knowledge and course content was just right and we would recommend her to anyone.

A fantastic company run by a truly amazing and supportive woman. Ilythia Birthing Company is brilliant for those who are new to hypnobirthing or others who want to refresh their memory. I would definitely recommend her and her company to anyone expecting a baby!

My wife and I recently completed a hypnobirthing course with Sophie Webb at Ilythia Birthing Company. I am not embarrassed to say this but as a first time parent, I was not sure what to expect from being a birthing partner or hypnobirthing. However, 5 minutes into the first session it was easy to see the passion that Sophie has for promoting a positive birth experience from her knowledge in hypnobirthing and experience in birthing her own two beautiful children. She was so lovely, a breath of fresh air to talk to and learn from, while open to any questions and offer advice if my wife needed it outside of the course times. Personally, I came out of the course in a completely different mindset than before, as I knew how I could be most effective in helping my wife have the most positive birth experience possible. We learnt that labour is different for everyone and may not go exactly as you planned but that doesnt mean it cant be a beautiful and incredible experience. Using hypnobirthing techniques, I was able to help my wife practice, prepare and experience a wonderful labour. I would thoroughly recommend Sophie and Ilythia Birthing Company to any expecting mums and especially to any birthing partners.
