I was recommended by a colleague to use John for plastering work (skimming ceilings). At first all seemed great and he was very pleasant. The work he carried out was in the main ok however he clearly ended up rushing through the last few rooms, including the lounge which was the most important room but given the poorest treatment. There were rough patches, unfinished corners and gaps in the work meaning I have since had to go back and polyfil and smooth over areas that were left in poor condition. In addition, he left the walls and floors in a terrible state with plaster dripped and slopped all over them. I am not experienced in having such work done before so cannot compare to other plasterers, however, I would certainly not be happy leaving a job in that state myself. During the work, I also found he had been using my extendable paint-roller pole (I have no idea why and surely if you're a pro you have the kit you need to carry out your work, you dont hope the house you work in will have the tools to enable you to do so). He rushed away from the job and didn't allow me a chance to walk through the house with him to check all was ok with it. A few days later I then discovered the paint roller pole was missing and assumed he must have it. Eventually he confirmed he had it in his van and after several days of waiting he finally returned it, leaving it at my front door. A few days later again, I then realised he had left behind 3 incredibly heavy bags of hardened plaster in one of the bedrooms. I do not know if this was accidental due to his rush to leave the job, or was deliberate. However, I contacted him to collect them and take them away. He has since decided to entirely ignore all messages and phone calls I have made to him. As such I am left with 3 very heavy bags of unusable plaster which I have to dispose of at cost at the tip as they charge for that type of waste. Overall, John was VERY unprofessional and the work he carried started out ok and deteriorated as he went. he then took an item form my house, returning it after several requests, and left behind waste which will cost me to dispose of, having totally ignored my messages and calls. I would NOT recommend using him.

No hesitation in recommending John he is a nice guy, polite and gets on with what needs doing. He has done a few jobs for us and would definitely use him again.

Mr fleet done a fantastic job putting up our false wall, with double doors fitted! Also had the pleasure of scaffolding for mr fleet so he could plaster 2 full gable ends to a house! Another great job & finish!

Excellent work, reboarding and skimming garage ceiling and porch, redecorating stairs, landing and w.c, fitting new vinyl flooring, installing new bathroom suite and redecorating. Professional friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Initially our experience with John was positive. John turned up when he said he would and did the plastering work that was required, although a very messy worker we put this down to the nature of the job. It soon became apparent when we invited John back to do a bigger project, that he was generally messy and finished to a poor standard. The building workmanship was poor quality at best and his plumbing and tiling skills are non existent. We are still paying someone else more money to put right the bodge job that John has done. This ranges from the tiling that we had to asked him to remove, the leaning sink that he plumbed onto an unlevel floor that he badly installed, a bath that was propped up by unsecured wood and just to add insult to injury I'm having to have a whole wall replastered as John did not plaster board the wall as required he just slapped plaster over the original inadequate surface. I would never allow John to work in my property ever again and I recommend you don't.
