AVOID! Where to start. We booked a stay at the Town House for the weekend 20th 22nd March 2020. We made the booking early March. Leading up to the stay, we were mindful of the ever-changing circumstances in respect of the COVID-19 outbreak and remained in contact with Ian (the Host). The day before the stay, The Government issued a ban on non-essential travel and we were also made aware that the town of Torbay and surrounding areas had been forced to lock down. We had made our concerns known to Ian who appeared to be fairly understanding and suggested that we re-consider a stay at a later date. On that basis, we decided to cancel our booking and look to re-book later on in the year. Unfortunately, Ian soon changed his manner and refused to refund our booking. We paid 420.00 for our stay and the only refund proposed to date is 60.00. It seems as though Ian isnt as morally in-touch as he likes to make out. The Government did not release the travel ban until 5pm Friday evening however Ian is hiding behind the 4pm Air BnB cut-off point which seems to be grossly prejudicial and slightly immoral. Given the way in which we have been treated, I would advise you to look elsewhere for a hassle-free stay. We travel regularly for work and can say, without a shadow of doubt, Ian is the worst host to date. Ian has taken advantage of Government guidance and in doing so, has pocketed from our loss. Please do not risk your money and book elsewhere. Ian is genuinely awful to deal with.
